Lion Debbie Dawson was born and raised in Toronto, Canada, eventually graduating from Business College. She began her career at Lever Brothers (Unilever) where she was directly responsible for contract negotiations and human resources of the unionized workforce. In 1989 Lion Debbie became a licensed Real Estate Broker in Oshawa, Ontario. She was the co-owner of a successful Real Estate franchise until her retirement from Real Estate in 2017.
While retiring, but not one to sit still, Lion Debbie became involved with the Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre. Stating in 2013, Debbie joined the Hearth Place team as a Fundraising and Community Engagement Officer where she utilizes her extensive fundraising and executive experience to the betterment of this charitable organization.

Lion Debbie serves her community as a charter member of the Oshawa Airport Lions Club and is involved with a variety of other organizations. She enjoys reading, cooking and travelling with her partner Don Bridge and spending time with her two granddaughters.
